[Selection-L] bookmobile

Good Morning:
    Our library is a county district public library in Ohio. We have a main 
library, one branch and a bookmobile. Within bookmobile we offer a homebound 
program. We serve a community of close to 53,000 people. We have seen a 
significant decrease in our bookmobile circulation in the past four years. 
We are still buying a significant amount of new material for them every 
month. It goes out for awhile and then comes back in to be stored on their 
shelves, to be used very little again unless a main or branch patron 
requests it.
    I am intersted in hearing from public libraries that have a bookmobile 
and have moved from having a "separate" collection for their bookmobile to 
using floating collections or you provide some new materials but your 
bookmobile pulls other materials from your other collections. You have done 
away with the separate collection.
    I would like to know your decision making process for changing, how you 
decided to go forward and how you planned for it. Where did you get advice 
on how to proceed? Thanks and feel free to contact me off list.
